Liz Earle Superskin Hand Serum

Considering that my hands are probably the most neglected body part after my feet, I was excited to hear that Liz Earle were extending the wonderful Superskin line to include a hand serum.

Yes, a serum, which I believe may be a first.

What makes a serum a serum is that all the ingredients are in a single phase, that is that they are dissolved in one another. So fun fact, Johnson and Johnson Baby Shampoo is actually a serum!
Now whether or not the Superskin Serum fulfils this criteria completely I am not sure, but like a lot of serums, it is water based and packed full of skin goodies such as Omega 3 and antioxidants.

The serum has the consistency that you would expect, light and runny. It is quickly absorbed and leaves no greasy residue, so perfect for keeping at your desk without the worry that you will end up with product all over your keyboard.

It also smells beautiful, exactly the same scent at the Superskin serum if you are familiar with that, but maybe a little lighter and it doesn’t linger for long.
It can be used instead of a hand cream or underneath your favourite product. I have used it both ways but found that it is effective on its own, making my hands softer and smoother than usual.

I can’t comment on if the serum improves visible signs of ageing since so far my hands don’t have any, but using the serum is very much a preventative step for me. I also didn’t notice any visible plumping but my hands do appear smoother immediately after use, this effect lasts for a few hours and the hydration that much longer. In fact since using this I haven’t felt the need to use hand products as much.

However, when my mum used the serum the plumping and fine line smoothing effects were clear to see, which was really impressive.
Can you tell which side has the serum?

If you are someone who has neglected your hands or are concerned about signs of ageing adding this to your routine could be a beneficial and if nothing else is very much a treat.

The Liz Earle Superskin Hand Serum is available to buy now at £17.50 for 75ml, and is available online at Liz Earle and instore at selected Boots and John Lewis.

So the question is, would you add a hand serum to your regime?

p.s This product is a PR sample, however, that in no way affects my review, which is based on my honest experience using the product.
